On January 26, 2011, Timo, Leah and Isabel welcomed the newest member of their family. Sarah Maria Jaakkimainen was born at 11:36 AM, weighing 6 lbs 10.6 oz (3.020 kg).

Updates

February 26, 2011(Height: 55 cm; Weight: 4.010 kg / 8.8 lbs)
I was holding back from more updates until I had time to revamp the website. However, people have asked for updates, so I will try to do so with the current setup. Sarah is doing excellent; she regained her birth weight in one week and has gained a whole kilogram in one month. Except for some gas pains, she's a very happy, content and easy going baby. Leah is recovering from some postpartum issues, and so Timo has taken time off work for a couple of months to be at home. Isabel is very loving to her baby sister and helps wherever she can (changing diapers, feeding, etc.). [New pictures below]

January 30, 2011 - Today, we officially announced the name of our baby girl: Sarah Maria Jaakkimainen. Sarah means "princess" in Hebrew; it was also the name that Isabel was calling the baby for the last month in Leah's womb. Maria is in honour of Timo's father (it is Matti's mother's name). Leah and baby Sarah were also discharged from the hospital today, and so Sarah is now at home with the rest of the family. (Note: fewer posts in the days to come, until I redesign the website)

January 28, 2011 - Leah is recovering well and in good spirits. The baby has started to nurse and is doing very well. She enjoys being held, even when it's nap time. Hearing test passed. No name yet, but it's coming soon.
