TIMO SERENADES LEAHWritten by Timo During our wedding ceremony, I managed to surprise Leah (as well as probably most of the guests) with a special addition to the programme. I sang a song that I had written specifically for Leah for that very day. For a long time, I had wanted to give something special to Leah for our wedding. Being creative, a worship leader and a songwriter, I thought would be a great touch to write a song for her and to her. However, I wanted to make it a surprise. This meant that I had to work on it at odd hours during our engagement when I wasn't with Leah. Over several months, I worked on the words, and then with the guitar Leah had given me as an engagement gift, I wrote the music and brought it all together. On the wedding day, I snuck my guitar (Leah's gift to me) into the church and hid it on the stage. With the minister, my groomsmen and the sound guy in-the-know, everything was prepared and ready. Then, at the appropriate moment during the ceremony, I quietly turned to Leah and told her that I'd written a song if I asked if I could sing it to her. With her nod, our minister Brent announced to the audience the special event that was going to transpire. As I made my way over to the guitar and microphone, Leah made an "all right!" gesture with her arm. I introduced the song and then proceeded to sing it. Below is a copy of the lyrics.
It was a great time. The song and the moment meant a lot to both Leah and myself. Moreover, later on after the ceremony, lots of people came and told us that they enjoyed and appreciated it too. ![]() Side Note: What most people don't know is that I actually wrote 2 songs for Leah. Besides "Here Is My Hand, Here Is My Heart", I had half-written a second song entitled "With You". This song was more upbeat. A few days after our wedding, during our honeymoon, I ended up singing it to Leah.
